Online Vaginismus Group Therapy

Meet the Facilitators

  • As a Psychosexual and Relationship therapist I have worked with a number of clients facing sexual dysfunction in their lives, I help by creating a safe space to support them through processing their anxieties and stresses, shaping therapy to match their personal needs and focus on their wants and needs for the future.

I work in an integrative way, meaning I’ll utilise tools and techniques from multiple therapeutic approaches to suit the client’s process.

The Speakeasy Space will be using similar tools with the added support of Zoe and the group setting. We hope to create a space which allows everyone to feel heard, appreciated and support by people who are experiencing similar things.

  • Hi, I’m Zoe, and I am a certified Sex and Relationship Therapist. I believe sex, intimacy and relationships are an essential aspect of health.

Just like physical or mental health needs, your sexually wellbeing deserves care and attention. I am passionate about women’s heath as it is often and area under looked and under researched.

Although pain during sex may common it isn’t normal, and I want women to be able to connect with pleasure instead of pain.

I provide a supportive space where you can work through challenges, develop healthier and happier connections and explore and embrace pleasure.

We offer an Online, 6 week, weekly Vaginismus Group Therapy Programme.

This group is designed to provide a supportive, validating space for individuals experiencing vaginismus.

Together, we will work on education, body awareness, anxiety reduction, relational support, and evidence-based strategies that can help reduce pain and increase comfort and confidence. The group combines therapeutic discussion with guided exercises, all at a pace that feels safe for you.

  • Understanding Vaginismus

We understand you may have researched into this topic a number of times, from googling all about painful sex to finding professionals who may be able to help.

We’re here to bring the current research on Vaginismus from a medical and psychosexual viewpoint to help you feel understood and heard.

  • Everyone’s experience is unique when it comes to sex. and relationships. We want to use the second week to focus on what Vaginismus means to you?

As a group, we’ll reflect on the dynamic of painful sex, what does penetration mean to you and what values are important.

  • It’s difficult to feel present in moments when heavy and painful symptoms caused an awful distraction. This week we’ll focus on mindfulness, breath work and active ways to be present when needed.

  • Using what you’ve learnt in week 3, we will explore a visualisation technique, looking inward to help process mental barriers and explore why they might be in place.

You will also be invited to explore a physical exercise in your own time and reflect in your workbooks.

  • Communication and Treatment Strategies

Sometimes helpful aids are useful when it comes to vaginismus. We can focus on ourselves by understanding what may be blocking us mentally, but it’s useful to know what aids are out there to support us, including dilators, and lube.

Being able to communicate our needs and how we feel can be difficult and we will look at ways together to make this easier.

  • After 5 weeks of work and reflection, a lot may be brought up for you as individual. We will use this last session to process any unquestioned questions, learn from one another and think about what you each need moving forward.
